Poompuhar Cauvery Delta Farmers Federation (PCDFF) and Kazhi Kadai Madai Farmers Federation (KKFF)

CCD's long standing association with the people in souther Tamil Nadu through Kalasms and other projects, gave it a unique insight into the culture, social structure and economic activites of the region. This was of greatest help when 2004, the region witnessed the biggest natural tragedy in the form of Tsunami in the year 2004. CCD quickly put together a team and got into action. However, even after the relief period, CCD continued to work in the region with the intention of strengthening the existing framework to protect the community from future disasters. CCD concentrated on the farmers in the Nagapattinam district, which was one of the worst affected by the Tsunami.

In the year 2006-07 the focus shifted from relief to rehabilitation of those farmers affected by the Tsunami that struck Nagapattinam in Dec 2004.
